Panic Room has always been about inspiration. We are happy to open our doors once again, and welcome you to our home. Read on to discover the full lineup.
Filmmakers and mixed-media artists Chris, Kenny and Jason comprise the creative collective known as Shynola. The boys met at art college, bonding over a highly productive collaboration of films, painting, comics, poetry and music. They have been directing consistently distinctive and award-winning work for over a decade. They have worked with Beck, Blur, Coldplay, Queens of the Stone Age, UNKLE and Radiohead, and created commercials for Honda, Delta, Nike, Sony, Orange, Unilever, Beats and Lowe's. They are currently developing their first feature film but are back for the night by popular demand.

Justin Lockey is a Yorkshire-based musician, producer and songwriter, best known as guitarist of the platinum-selling, alternative rock band Editors and mastermind behind Minor Victories. In addition to heading up electronic indie group The British Expeditionary Force, Lockey is also a passionate writer and filmmaker. He's worked with Mogwai, Frightened Rabbit, The Staves, Editors, The Twilight Sad, and more. Lockey has written a number of episodic drama series, which are currently being developed by The Panics Film, first coming into contact when he co-wrote the music for Mischa Rozema’s ‘A Report Of Connected Events’.
Rezvani was born and raised in Tehran, graduating in Graphic Design from Tehran University of Art. In 2006, Rahi started working with the Netherlands Dance Theatre, producing all imagery and campaigns for them since. He has collaborated with a wide range of people and brands including performance artist Marina Ambramović, Atelier Versace, Mooi, Max Richter and Editors. He has conceived and directed music videos as well as directing the covers for a number of their singles. Rahi won best Best Art Vinyl award for Editors’ 2018 album Violence. His body of work as a photographer is extensive, and includes portraiture of Amsterdam’s Joep Beving and Willem Dafoe.
DION SOETHOUDT (HOST)
Dion is a full-time visual communication designer, part-time stand-up comedian, and also self-proclaimed, best dancing-designer of the Design Academy Eindhoven class of 2016. He brings the same deconstructive humour to his design work as he does to his standup and believes that humour can act as an extreme and light agent to push boundaries, shape new norms, and transfer controversial thoughts and ideas. Dion is part of House of Panic.
JOSH COLE (PHOTO EXPO)
Director, photographer and political activist, Josh Cole is known for his emotional and gritty style. Josh draws on his own struggles to make an emotional connection with the audience. He has shot print campaigns for Levis, Nokia, Nike, Lucozade, Nintendo, Vodafone and Canon, amongst others. As a film director, his Rudimental music video, shot in the slums of Manila, culminated in 8 awards including Saatchi New Director’s Showcase and Best Dance Video at the UK MVAs. Josh has a number of scripted and non-scripted projects in the pipeline which include his first feature film. He is represented by The Panics.
KRIS JONES (MUSIC)
Kris started off in record distribution back in 2001, importing vinyl from the States to supply London’s West End record stores with the latest drops. It was his knowledge and passion for music that landed him the role of A&R / Label Manger for seminal Soul Jazz Records where he spent eight years. Kris has taken on numerous Artist and Label Manger roles for independent dance labels and artists and is currently Licensing Manager for Hyperdub Records.

We curate and host the legendary PANIC ROOM.It began in 2009 bringing the Amsterdam creativecrowd together. It’s not about the sell and youcan’t buy your way in. It’s about sharing positivityto make us better. We invite some of the bestdirectors, photographers, artists, musicians andrandom creative folk we admire from around theglobe to come and share what’s making themtick at the moment. You could call it a love-in somaybe this is our hippy moment. But we needmore love in this world. The PANIC ROOM is a bi-annual event here in Amsterdam with internationaleditions including Mexico City and Prague.
